Bonnie Folkins studied at Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, Canada and at the International School of Art in Umbria, Italy.
Working in a traditional style using both watercolours and oils, the paintings focus on classical design and colour principles. Working from nature, the aim is to capture momentary effects of moving shadows and cast light.
Works represented on this site are from Italy, Hong Kong & Macau, Spain, Portugal, and the Azores, , Australia & New Zealand, India, Mongolia, South Korea, Japan, the United States (the Adirondacks in upper New York State and Atlantic Canada. Included here is a portrait collection of the Romany People of Northern Portugal.
Works are represented in corporate collections and eight universities including McGill University. Personal and group exhibitions have been hosted in Canada, the United States, Portugal and Italy.
